Madison County Traffic Court Records
Municipal courts handle city traffic and ordinance cases, while county routing depends on the issuing authority and offense. Danielsville and Carlton charters expressly create municipal courts; Comer publishes a municipal-ticket route. Colbert, Ila, and Hull require city confirmation because no complete official public citation system was located. The Madison Magistrate Court page sends traffic-citation questions to Probate Court at 706-795-6365, but that direction does not prove every county ticket belongs there.
The issuing clerk keeps the court record. It can include the citation, plea, settings, orders, disposition, and financial entries. A payment vendor is only a transaction or lookup channel when the official city or court links it; it is not the authoritative docket.
No Central Georgia Ticket Database
Georgia Courts traffic guidance says there is no centralized citation database. A searcher must identify the court on the ticket before choosing a vendor. This is especially important in Madison County, where six municipalities may have different local routes. Government Window's visible selector did not list Madison County during research, and EZ Court Pay was not tested against an individual record. Do not enter personal data into a vendor simply because it appears on a statewide list.

Looking Up a Traffic Ticket
Read the ticket for the issuing court, citation number, name, date of birth, and appearance instructions. EZ Court Pay displays date of birth, citation number, and last name fields, requiring date of birth plus either the citation number or last name. Those are vendor fields, not proof that every Madison citation is available there.
- Identify the issuing city, agency, and named court on the citation.
- Use only the portal linked by that court; enter the citation number exactly as printed.
- If the approved tool allows it, try the name and date-of-birth route when the citation number is unavailable.
- Call or visit the issuing clerk when the ticket has not posted, a portal denies access, or no city tool is published.
- Write down the court date, response deadline, location, balance, and any instructions, then confirm them with the court.
Comer Has a Distinct Route
Comer provides the clearest local process. Its official payment page names Comer Municipal Court, links JusticeONE, lists 706-783-4552 and 678-359-2783, accepts a money order by mail at P.O. Box 65, Comer, GA 30629, and gives a separate camera-citation phone route. JusticeONE denied automated access during research, and the city page did not display a docket image or public case-search fields. If the vendor is unavailable, use the municipal clerk rather than another county's portal.

Finding Your Traffic Court Date
The date printed on a citation is the first clue, not a substitute for current confirmation. Madison Magistrate publishes misdemeanor citation hearings on the second Tuesday at 9:00 a.m. and county-ordinance hearings on the third Tuesday at 9:00 a.m.; those patterns apply only when that court actually holds the matter. Municipal dates must be confirmed with the city. Ask whether a continuance or reset has changed the original notice before traveling.
| Citation Number | Use the exact printed identifier; no single Madison format was verified. |
|---|---|
| Court | The issuing municipal or county court controls the case. |
| Date & Time | The appearance or hearing setting, subject to court confirmation. |
| Location | The city court room or county office printed on the current notice. |
| Status | A vendor or clerk may show pending, paid, disposed, or another court-defined state. |
City Hall Fallbacks Matter
Danielsville Municipal Court operates through City Hall at 10 Government Circle, 706-795-2189. Colbert's fallback is City Hall at 60 West First Avenue, 706-788-2311. Ila can be reached at 706-789-2244, and Carlton at 706-797-3210. No complete public citation portal was located for those four cities. The absence of a portal does not establish the absence of a case or municipal court; it means the citation and city clerk must supply the current route.
Pay or Contest a Ticket
Georgia's official guidance treats payment and contest as different choices. Payment can close a case and carry consequences associated with the plea or disposition. Contesting requires following the issuing court's procedure and may lead to a hearing or trial setting. The research did not identify one Madison-wide deadline, fine schedule, defensive-driving policy, or plea method, so use the citation and court instructions.
| Paying the Ticket | Contesting the Ticket |
|---|---|
| Follow the court's payment and plea terms; a transaction can affect the court disposition. | Notify the issuing court under its rules and obtain the next setting. |
| Use the citation's stated response or appearance deadline. | Do not miss the same deadline while waiting for a vendor result. |
| Only through methods the court approves: portal, mail, telephone, or counter. | Use the municipal or county court named on the citation. |
Missed Court Date: Contact the issuing court immediately. Georgia DDS explains that failure to appear can lead to a license suspension process; the underlying matter must be resolved with the court, and most courts submit releases electronically. Do not assume an online payment alone has cleared a warrant, release, or license issue.
Vendor Screens Need Verification
Government Window displayed a “Choose the Issuing City or Court” selector, but its visible options did not include Madison County on the research date. EZ Court Pay exposed identifier fields, while JusticeONE was linked by Comer but inaccessible to inspection. These observations are access boundaries, not conclusions about an individual ticket. Confirm a result, balance, and appearance obligation with the issuing clerk.

Traffic Court Record vs Driving Record
The issuing court's file and the Georgia driving record have different custodians and purposes. Courts report qualifying convictions through the Georgia Electronic Court Processing System, while DDS maintains license status. A missing vendor result does not establish a clean court or driving record, and a DDS entry does not replace the underlying court file.
| Court Traffic Record | Driver Record | |
|---|---|---|
| Kept By | Issuing municipal or county court clerk | Georgia Department of Driver Services |
| Shows | Citation, settings, plea, disposition, and financial entries | Reportable convictions, points, and license actions |
| How to Get It | Approved court lookup or clerk request | Official DDS record-request channel |
Probate Is the County Phone Handoff
The Madison Magistrate page specifically tells callers with traffic-citation questions to contact Probate Court at 706-795-6365. It also publishes recurring misdemeanor-citation and county-ordinance calendars. Treat those facts as a routing aid: ask Probate to identify the correct docket when the ticket names a county channel, but do not send a Comer, Danielsville, Colbert, Ila, Carlton, or Hull citation there unless the document or city clerk directs it.

Fees and Copies
No unified Madison County traffic-copy fee was published. Because each issuing court maintains its own file, ask that clerk for the price of a plain copy, certified disposition, search, and delivery. Statewide vendor convenience charges or ticket balances are not record-copy fees.
| Item | Fee | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Plain court-file copy | Confirm locally | Ask the issuing clerk |
| Certified disposition or record | Confirm locally | Specify the receiving purpose |
| Search, mail, or vendor charge | Varies | Get the current terms before paying |
